Description
Liquid for root canals rinsing
Composition
sodium hypochlorite (2% of active chlorine), purified water compliant with Ph. Eur.
Intended use
During the mechanical canal widening it removes the remains of dead pulp. It cleans the canal and removes the smear layer to expose the dentin root canal orifices before final filling.
Instructions for use
Introduce CHLORAXID 2% into the canal using a syringe with a blunt-ended needle with a side bore, and start flushing.
Sodium hypochlorite in the product inactivates immediately in contact with organic substances. Therefore, to compensate, the amount of the preparation should be increased to about 10 ml per canal.
An adapter with a cap is used to drag the preparation into the syringe.
1. Carefully unscrew the bottle cap and tilt it back. Screw the adapter onto the bottle. Do not tear off the attached cap to avoid any spillage when the cap is being torn off.
2. Start by unscrewing the blue cap of the adapter, and then screw the end of the syringe into the adapter opening, tip the preparation bottle upside down and drag the liquid into the syringe, while holding the adapter. Next, put the bottle upright on the table top and gently unscrew the filled syringe from adapter. It is recommended to use luer-lock syringes with a rubber plunger.
3. After each use, close the adapter opening with a blue plug.
4. For transport, remove the adapter and screw the cap on the bottle.
Contraindications
Do not use CHLORAXID 2% in patients with hypersensitivity to sodium hypochlorite. Do not use immediately before/after flushing with citric acid or EDTA, as these substances neutralise the effect of sodium hypochlorite. Do not use immediately before/after flushing with chlorhexidine digluconate, otherwise brown precipitate will form. Use purified water to flush the root canals alternately with the use of fluids.
Precautions
When flushing the root canal, do not use an excessively strong jet of fluid, as this may cause the fluid to enter the periapical tissues and damage them, which will manifest as the pain, inflammation or swelling of soft tissues. Special care should be taken when the product is applied into perforations. Sodium hypochlorite can weaken root dentin. Endodontic treatment may cause temporary postoperative pain. The CHLORAXID 2% product has cytotoxic potential. Irritating to the mucous membranes of the mouth, eyes and skin.
In case of contact rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
In case of consumption do not induce vomiting. Drink plenty of water. Seek medical advice.
Use a cofferdam, disposable gloves, safety goggles/visors and protective clothing when handling the product.
The dispenser is not designed to draw fluids from the root canal.
